The 2018 version of the BMW 4-Series will adhere to the tried and true tradition of BMW design while adding “extra richness” to the car’s character, according to the company’s head of design, Domagoj Dukec. “The maxim guiding the BMW 4-Series model update was stick to the proven formula but add extra richness to the car’s character,” he said. “That’s why the exterior design shines the spotlight most brightly on the dynamic and elegant qualities of the BMW 4-Series family.” Be the first in line for a test drive of the new Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe at Chapman BMW on Camelback.

Styling Tweaked From Front to Rear

Although elements of the 2012 BMW concept vehicle are clearly evident in the 2018 BMW 4-series lineup, features like hexagonally sculpted LED headlights, a larger air intake and LED lights in the rear all add a bit more pizzaz to the current model. The traditional BMW eyebrow is created by cropping off the headlights slightly. The standard fog lights remain standard, adding to the vehicle’s heritage. Move to the rear and you’ll notice bold lines and a longer design of the rear lights to help make the wheel arches pop out. The new rear apron gives the impression of muscle while the outer contour line delivers an air of sophistication.

Upgraded Interior Adds to High-quality Feel

With new upgraded details like electroplating on many of the trim elements, the interior of the BMW 4-Series feels more upscale than ever before. A leather steering wheel provides a better grip as well as a luxury look. Leather offerings come in Midnight Blue Dakota, Cognac Dakota and White Dakota with contrasting stitching to make the upholstery stand out. With additional packages available, you’ll find a large number of possibilities to create your own version of the new 4-Series.

X Drive an Option on All Gas Models

If you want the ultimate in control, consider choosing the X Drive all-wheel drive system that’s available on all gasoline models. Aside from the obvious benefits of providing traction to any wheel that needs it, X Drive also improves handling when you’re out on a performance run. It reduces both oversteer and understeer on tight corners, improving lap times and delivering a dynamic driving performance. You can choose from two different gasoline engines delivering 248 horsepower and 320 horsepower, respectively. The BMW 4-Series comes with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission to deliver the most power and efficiency through the rev range. “Automobile” magazine, a trusted consumer advocate in the auto industry, recently added the BMW M2 to its list of all-stars after trial runs at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. The “Automobile” judges loved the latest addition to BMW’s M lineup, praising its power, ability to hug the corners and agility. Powered by the newest version of the M TwinPower Turbo engine, the BMW M2 produces a hefty 365 horsepower and snappy 369 pound-feet of torque. Check in often at Chapman BMW on Camelback to fully appreciate what the new M2 has to offer.

M2 Replaces M1 in BMW Lineup

A product of BMW’s famed Motorsports division, the M2 was first unveiled in late 2015 as a replacement for the 1 M Coupe. The M2 can zip from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds with the double clutch transmission and launch control enabled. Top speed is limited to 155 mph. The double clutch transmission is an option that meshes the workings of two different gearboxes to harmoniously get the most out of each performance range. Gear changes are executed in fractions of a second to cut down track time and produce the smoothest drive imaginable.

Electric Power Steering Delivers Precise Feel

Fine tuned on the toughest tracks in Europe, the BMW Motorsports electric power steering provides the M2 with precise feel and important feedback from every turn and bump in the road. The amount of assistance is directly related to the speed, keeping the driver in complete control at all times. Electric power steering is also a benefit to efficiency, adding more than a half-mile per gallon to the EPA estimate.

M2 Design is all BMW

There’s no mistaking what company builds the BMW M2. With an athletic stance and bold elements of design working together with a sophisticated look that will turn heads wherever you go, the M2 earns the title “Ultimate Driving Machine.” The new M2 pays homage to its ancestors with stylistic references to such classic cars as the BMW 2002 turbo and 3.0 CSL. The short front overhang and long wheelbase combine with such classic features as the front gills sitting behind the wheel arches to send a visual statement of excellence. The wide rear of the car is accented by horizontal lines on the trunk and rear apron to emphasize the grip this car has on the asphalt at all times.
